This article explores the limitations concerning an hegemonic conception of violence, gender and sexuality in the Chilean approach on domestic violence against women. It is interested in going over some knots of the institutional practice, exploring their relation to the notion of victim in the women oral testimony. From our perspective these knots have contributed to stress the reflections coming from feminism, which has demanded for three decades deconstructing the intelligibility of the phenomenon.
