Today the job description for a journalist includes the use of digital tools that lead to an improvement in the way the profession serves the world. The functions attributed to professionals in the audiovisual field have expanded greatly and consequently so has the preparation needed to carry them out. The changes taking place today affect not only production processes but also the ways and means with which journalism is practiced, the ways we preserve and maintain information, program content and more importantly job descriptions for journalists. Currently a new job description is making its appearance, that of the content manager. The content manager’s main role is to manage previously prepared information and make decisions regarding its final use.
