February 2010 was a crucial month for Colombian media and politics: the closure of Cambio magazine and former president Alvaro Uribe Vélez' assertions on behalf of the creation of a State of Opinion, stirred Colombian society. The following text analyzes the role played by mass media and communicators vis-à-vis Colombian society and what they should achieve.
