Abstract

MARTINEZ ROA, Ómar Gerardo  and  BURGOS HERNANDEZ, Pedro Nel. Communicative Citizenship and Peacebuilding: Peace Agenda from Nariño. Signo pensam. [online]. 2014, vol.33, n.65, pp.32-46. ISSN 0120-4823.  https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.SYP33-65.cccp.

Based on a diagnostic approach on the limitations, needs, scope, communication and informative opportunities about the armed conflict and peace-building, a communicative citizenship approach is derived in order to design a communication strategy for the Peace Agenda from Nariño. Results obtained in the interviews conducted among community leaders and social organizations from the Department of Nariño allow to conclude that there are four main requirements for a communicative citizenship to be effective and real: communication skills, availability of reliable information, communication mechanisms and active receptivity. These constitute key elements in designing a communication strategy for a lasting and sustainable peace.

Keywords : communicative citizenship; peacebuilding; armed conflict; communicative diagnosis; communication strategy.
