The present article deals with collective health as a platform for social inclusion of disabled persons. It begins by making a brief historical review and epistemological contextualization of collective health as a generator field for knowledge and new social practices. Following this reflection, as an introduction, it enunciates the theoretical focuses that have been crucial to the development of the concept of disabled person, and finally, it closes with a discussion about the new sceneries and social practices that health promotion has opened for this target population.
