Abstract

BALLEN RODRIGUEZ, Juan Sebastián. ON THE DEATH OF ART IN HEGEL'S LECTURES ON AESTHETICS. Univ. philos. [online]. 2012, vol.29, n.59, pp.179-194. ISSN 0120-5323.

This essay discusses problems on the death of art Hegel interchangeably held in his Lectures on Aesthetics, around three main topics: reminiscence, individuality, and poetic prose. These three stages correspond to the study of classical, romantic and modern forms of art, a periodization determined by the philosopher in order to show the artistic movement present in spiritual manifestations in European literature and society of Eighteenth century.

Keywords : death of art; souvenir; individuality; poetry; prose.
