Abstract
UNGER PARRA, Biviana. CHARITY AS A HERMENEUTIC CRITERION. AN APPROXIMATION TO THE COMPREHENSION OF THE UNITY OF ST. AUGUSTINE'S DE DOCTRINA CHRISTIANA. Univ. philos. [online]. 2015, vol.32, n.64, pp.329-341. ISSN 0120-5323. https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.uph32-64.cchc.
The De Doctrina Christiana is one of St. Augustine's most important works, not only because of the reflection and hermeneutic exposed, but because of its special nature, since their composition realizes the vital and intellectual development of the author over two decades. A large section of the specialized reviews say that this work should be understood as a set of two irreconcilable parts, that one written in 396, with a hermeneutical character, the other finished by 426 devoted to rhetoric and the doctrine of grace. While it should not be ignored the difference between these two parts of the work, it is necessary to find a common ground that not only ensures the unity of the work, but also of the whole Christian culture.
