Abstract

RAMIREZ-PERILLA, JAIME. Ex situ Egg-Laying Cycle of Trachemys scripta ornata(Reptilia: Testudines: Emydidae) in Relation with Annual Climate. Acta biol.Colomb. [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.2, pp.105-111. ISSN 0120-548X.

It was observed that 96% of the annual egglaying occurs betwen November to March with maximum frecuencies on December (34%) and January (23%) -dry season. There is no association (Pearson correlation) between percentage (%) of egglaying average/month vs. rainfall, relative humidity (%) or temperature (p = -0.23; p = -0.08; p = 0.02 respectively) but it is positive in relation to lighthours/day (p = 0.42).

Keywords : Reptilia; Testudines; Trachemys scripta ornata; reproduction; reproductive cycles.
