MAZORRA, MANUEL FERNANDO et al. Anatomic Aspects of Formation and Growth of the Cape Gooseberry Fruit Physalis peruviana (Solanaceae). Acta biol.Colomb. [online]. 2006, vol.11, n.1, pp.69-81. ISSN 0120-548X.

This investigation was made in a commercial Cape gooseberry (Physalis peruviana) orchard located in the municipality of Granada, Cundinamarca, Colombia. The study confirmed that anatomically the Cape gooseberry fruits, ecotype Colombia, and ruderal type are similar, which demonstrates the absence of appreciable anatomical changes that explain the greater size of the fruits of ecotype Colombia.
