VELASQUEZ GUTIERREZ, Vilma Florisa  e  AMAYA-REY, María Consuelo del Pilar. Total Family Hazar in families with elderly, Municipality of Funza (Cundinamarca, Colombia). Salud, Barranquilla [online]. 2012, vol.28, n.2, pp.309-321. ISSN 0120-5552.

Objective: To portray families with elderly in the municipality of Funza, from the ap-proach of Total Family Hazard. Materials and methods: Descriptive transverse study with quantitative boarding. A sample of 71 families was selected by convenience. Materials and methods: The material used was Instrument of Total Family Hazard RFT 7-70 (1). Results: The results indicate predominance of big families (29%), atypical (29%) and big modified (24%), with high total family hazard (47.9%), mainly influenced by subcatego-ries morbidity in the family and socioeconomic environment. The correlations coefficients are shown in subcategories: family lifestyle with psycho-emotional environment (0.566), health practices with family morbidity (.402), family lifestyles with physical housing en-vironment (.362), and with morbidity (.361). Discussion and conclusions: In families of socio-economical strata from first to third level, family hazards are associated with the characteristics of family members, morbimor-tality, environment (socioeconomic, housing, psycho-affective, health style and practices) and accessibility, availability and acceptance of health services. All the families of the stu-dy are at risk; therefore, they require health care at all levels. High-risk families have prio-rity given their precarious economic, social, educational and health conditions. The TFH is useful to outline research and practice aspects.
