Objective: To determine the working conditions and health of motorcycle taxi drivers in Cartagena. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 423 motorcycle-taxi drivers in the city, selected by random cluster sampling. For the collection of information was used socio-demographic survey and an adaptation of the VI National Survey of Working Conditions of the National Institute of Safety and Health at Work in Spain. Descriptive statistics were applied to the data using the statistical software version 17 SPSSS. Results: The study involved 423 motorcycle-taxi drivers, 97.9% (414) were men. The 46.3% (196) are high school graduates and 2.1% (9) have completed university. In terms of working conditions and health, 54.8% (232) reported being self-employed owners of motorcycles. The 18.2% (77) assure exposure to loud noise, 40.7% (173) to work with rain, 91% (385) breathing dust and fumes during working hours. The median number of hours worked is 10. The 53.7% (227) claimed not to have any affiliation to social security, the 74.7% (316) felt that their work affects their health, being the most common disorders: back pain 65.2% (276), neck pain 34 % (144) and skin diseases 25.5% (108) Conclusion: The "moto-taxismo" is the type most common informal work in the city of Cartagena. The workers have no affiliation to the general social security system in health, and work in conditions that threaten their health.
