Abstract

Objective: To determine the predictors of physical inactivity levels in the population between 18 and 60, in the city of Sincelejo in 2011. Materials and Methods: 457 people between the ages of 18-60 years old, selected by non-probability design with quota sampling was available on a voluntary acceptance by them, to participate in the study, compliance inclusion criteria, the diligence of informed consent, the questionnaire aptitude for physical activity. Results: The prevalence of physical inactivity was 78.6%, the interplay of different variables and the associations revealed in the logistic regression model was established that age, BMI, and marital status, explain the behavior of the levels of sedentary lifestyle significantly p<0,05. Conclusions: Age and BMI, become variables that predict the level of inactivity for the city of Sincelejo.
