Abstract

Objective: Describe the perspectives of nursing students in front of the subject of research. Method: Quantitative, descriptive and cross study. Structured surveys by nine items, applied to 31 students of 6th level curriculum in hours of nursing Program at the University of Tolima in Colombia, in the course Research Methods and Techniques. Results: As for the prospects of students in front of the subject it found that 74 % waiting learning to design research projects and the remaining 26 % believe that the course will provide the ability to execute them. Conclusions: From the pedagogical, the need to continue working with the formative research approach to encourage students in developing skills for reflection, analysis and argumentation on research evidence; about discipline, should strengthen the teaching of learning by doing, focusing on the study of the phenomena of nursing and the use of research as a key tool to respond to the needs of the context.
