Abstract

Organizational intervention actions to improve working conditions in the Department of Public Works of a city council of the south of Jalisco (Mexico). Objetive:

Develop lines of action for an improvement plan on the working conditions of the psychosocial character perceived as opportunity areas in the organizational dimensions, work context and work content conformed of four factors each, as well as safety and hygiene observed in the Public Works Department of a city council in the South of Jalisco, Mexico.

Materials and methods:

Action research strategy integrating a group with the participation of the principal levels of the organizational structure, a process of five steps based on the results of a previous evaluation carried out through the "CTCPS-MAC", a battery used for the study of working conditions of psychosocial character perceived and the observation of workplace based on the Mexican normativity.

Results:

Actions were obtained to improve working conditions perceived as harmful in the factors that conform them and optimize the resources recuperating the steps of the action research strategy.

Conclusion:

It is necessary that organizations with comprehensive vision, make an analysis of their activities and the working conditions that can affect health, safety, environment, quality and productivity, developing actions with the direct participation of the involved personnel to improve them through action research processes as a strategy with potential to generate a working culture of wellbeing and sustainability.
