Abstract

FERNANDEZ, Sergio Marcos. M. MUJICA LÁINEZ: PARODIC HUMOR AND LITERARY REPLY AGAINST THE ALTERNATE. DE MILAGROS Y DE MELANCOLÍAS. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2013, n.63, pp.95-115. ISSN 0120-5587.

In De milagros y de melancolías (1968) Mujica Láinez reaffirms a radical change in his thematic and aesthetic options with regard to his previous works. Thus he does not construct characters, spaces and temporalities with precise biographical, geographical, and historical references, but he opts for parodic anachronisms in interdiscursive relation with Argentine and Latin American historiography; he creates absolutely fictional characters, spaces and temporalities: the vicissitudes of San Francisco de Apricotina (a Latin American imaginary city). Therefore, the author addresses the vision of the world as alternate thing.

Keywords : M. Mujica Láinez; De milagros y de melancolías; literary reply; parody; the alternate thing.
