Abstract

SIMUNOVIC DIAZ, Horacio. SEMANTICS IN THE STARTUP PHASE OF CONVERSACIÓN EN LA CATEDRAL BY MARIO VARGAS LLOSA. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2013, n.63, pp.195-220. ISSN 0120-5587.

The initial phase of every novel is a privileged stage of the programming global sense of the text, a "nerve center" semiotic instance in the textual construction of meaning. In the case of the novel Conversación en La Catedral by Mario Vargas Llosa (1969), it is also one of the most famous startup phases of Latin American literature. The following discussion presents the joint analysis of three levels of meaning: ideational semantic, stylistic and generic-discursive novel for this phase.

Keywords : Discourse; speech genre; novel; phase; style; semantics.
