GARCIA LEON, David Leonardo. LINGUISTIC POLICIES IN THE CARIBBEAN: REFLECTIONS ON THE REGULATION BETWEEN ENGLISH CREOLES AND EUROPEAN LANGUAGES. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2013, n.64, pp.49-74. ISSN 0120-5587.

This article presents a general description of the Linguistic policies of the Caribbean, with special emphasis on the English Creoles of this region. It begins with a presentation of some of the theoretical elements of linguistic policies. Then, are defined a proposal on a linguistic policy for the Caribbean in general, and two specific policies to regulate the situation of languages in the Jamaican and Trinbagonian education systems. After that, a series of reflections on these policies is established and the article finishes with a few conclusions.
