Abstract

This article reports scientific, cultural and pedagogical study that analyzed the contribution of workshops with children's songs on different languages for the development of linguistic awareness, reading and writing of students in the first grade of a public school in Porto Alegre. The methodology involved: selection of songs, organization and application of research instruments and methodology of work exploring cultural and linguistic elements of phonic, morphosyntactic and semantic-pragmatic plans of songs. The data collected indicate an increase in the scores of linguistic awareness, reading and writing for children.
