Abstract

ARIAS CORTES, Diego. THE EMPHATIC TO BE IN THE SPOKEN SPANISH OF CIUDAD BOLÍVAR. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2014, n.65, pp.15-36. ISSN 0120-5587.

This paper aims to show the functions of the emphatic to be, a linguistic feature identified in the Spanish spoken in Ciudad Bolívar (a locality of Bogotá). Its functions are explained not from a traditional theoretical approximation, but from its observation in the spoken speech. Before that, the reader is informed about the main theoretical aspects in the study of such phenomenon, which allow tackling it and contribute to outline the path to future investigations.
