This paper reviews the episode of the dueña dolorida (Quixote, II, chap. 37-41) from the perspective of the chivalry tales of the sixteenth century mentioned therein, in order to contextualize and recognize the influence of this genre in the Second part of Don Quixote. With the aim of valuing the Cervantes's processing of these short stories, this work analyzes the structure, characters and chivalrous topics used in the episode as well as studies the mechanisms by which mockery and parody are achieved.
