Abstract

PASTRANA SALAS, Andrés Alfonso. A TOPONYMIC CONFIGURATION OF THE KANKUAMO INDIGENOUS RESERVATION. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2020, n.77, pp.147-172.  Epub Oct 26, 2021. ISSN 0120-5587.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.lyl.n77a07.

This research aimed to verify the origin and existence of toponyms in the Kankuamo indigenous reservation, through a morphological and lexicographic analysis. The origin and linguistic affiliation of the Kankuamo community was determined, as well as the process of reconfiguration of their identity, based on the topographic and cultural attributes assigned by its members. Among the findings, the symbolic character that each space in the Kankuamo territory assumes as part of the individual and collective identity of this community stands out.

Keywords : toponymy; sociocultural; indigenous.
