This study approached the spiral in pre-Columbian pictography, to analyze it rigorously and show all its complexity in defining visions of the world. To this end, the spiral and its different variants are studied from linguistic anthropology, ethnolinguistics and ethnography. Finally, the results will point to the need to re-evaluate the interpretation of these rock marks in their various means of artistic reproduction, since they could strengthen, through their meaning, ethnic identity and indigenous intercultural learning.
