Abstract

BARZAGA MORALES, Iraida Lisandra. THE LOSS OF NAIVETY IN PABLO MONTOYA’S TRIPTYCH OF INFAMY: APPROXIMATIONS TO THE DISCOURSE. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2020, n.77, pp.532-547.  Epub Nov 02, 2021. ISSN 0120-5587.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.lyl.n77a23.

This article will expose the loss of naivety or evidence (Maya, 2006) in Pablo Montoya’s novel Triptych of Infamy. The evidence is a notion that attempt to demonstrate that both the writer and the painter-characters, whose visual works favor the unfolding of the novel plot, are community beings and mediating artists, who take the content of their creations with a critical perspective from a social reality, taking distance from it without imitating it, but refracting it. This process leaves on record that the paintings and the novel are stripped of ingenuity.

Keywords : loss of naivety; social being; mediator artist; refraction; social reality.
