The Mexican writer Rosario Castellanos reveals in her narrative her personal experience in the machismo of the mid-twentieth century in Mexico. In some of the stories, it is noted depth, intensity and descriptive thoroughness in the construction of the spaces. Thus, an approximation is made to the category of space in Los convidados de agosto, a tale of the book of the same name published in 1964, based on custom, eroticism and rumor, features present in the text and that have been little reviewed by literary studies.
