Abstract

MONSALVE FLOREZ, Jhon Alexánder. Semiotic Study of the Socio-ideological Identity of the Roa Family, as a Collective Actor, in El crimen del siglo, by Miguel Torres. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2023, n.83, pp.294-312.  Epub June 20, 2023. ISSN 0120-5587.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.lyl.n83a13.

This paper presents a semiotic study on the socio-ideological identity of the Roa family, understood as a collective actor, in El crimen del siglo, by Miguel Torres. To do this, from the theory and methods of semiotics, the identity of each actor -Juan, Doña Encarnación and the Roa brothers- is analysed, first; then, a path is proposed for the analysis of collective actors, scarcely studied from semiotics; finally, it is concluded, among other things, that the Roa family is configured as such a community, especially due to its Gaitanist political inclination.

Keywords : identity; semiotics; actor; collective actor; literary actor.
