Malignant and benign primary tumors of the heart are rare. Secondary or metastatic tumors of the heart are several times more common than the primary ones. In this study we report the register of the patients with heart tumors that were admitted to the Santa María Cardiovascular Clinic between 1989 and 2004, in whom a histological diagnosis was achieved. The anatomical distribution according to age, as well as the histological type and the referred symptoms are described.
