Abstract

AMAYA, William; LIEVANO, John  and  VILLEGAS, Jorge. Sirolimus stent fracture: a cause of late restenosis. Rev. Colomb. Cardiol. [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.6, pp.394-396. ISSN 0120-5633.

The first case of drug-eluting stent fracture in coronary arteries was published in 2004, and although it is a rare event, the diagnostic and therapeutic implications remain a challenge. We report the case of a 49 years old male patient , carrier of two medicated stents with history of a new coronary event and diagnosis through catheterization of fracture of these devices.

Keywords : acute coronary syndrome; drug-eluting stents; coronary disease.
