Different body positions have a demonstrated influence in changes of an electrocardiogram tracing: breathing alterations, changes in the vectorcardiogram, arm positions and ST segment, body position and long QT syndrome, R voltage alteration, Q wave and electrical axis and improper placement of electrodes, among others. In this paper a global review is done in order to draw attention to those changes in the electrocardiogram tracing that could be improperly interpreted or be attributed to a non-existent pathology.
