Abstract

OSMA-CHARRIS, Handerson R.; ESCOBAR-CASTANO, Camilo J.; URQUIJO-ROCHA, Tatiana M.  and  MORA, Guillermo. Cough-induced syncope: not always situational. Rev. Colomb. Cardiol. [online]. 2017, vol.24, n.6, pp.621-621. ISSN 0120-5633.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rccar.2017.06.002.

Syncope is a relatively common reason for consultation in emergency departments. The case is presented of a 67 year-old male who was admitted to the emergency department with syncope secondary to a third degree atrioventricular block, which subsequently presented with multiple paroxysms of cough. The different mechanisms that explain this rare combination are discussed.

Keywords : Cough; Syncope; Atrioventricular block.
