Abstract

MORA, Guillermo. COVID-19 and arrhythmias: relationship and risk. Rev. Colomb. Cardiol. [online]. 2020, vol.27, n.3, pp.153-159.  Epub June 15, 2021. ISSN 0120-5633.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rccar.2020.05.004.

The COVID-19 pandemic has a relationship with arrhythmias that occur through direct effects on the myocardium, or through indirect effects of the treatments that could be used in detaining the virus. In this review, it demonstrates the poor prognosis conferred by having a history of arrhythmias or the development of these during the course of the illness due to COVID-19, the proarrhythmic effect of some treatments, and the prevention measures, and treatment in cases presenting with arrhythmias.
