Abstract

VILLADA DUQUE, Fernando; PARRA, Diego  and  OCAMPO, Guillermo. Study of the behavior of induction motors under stator faults. Rev.fac.ing.univ. Antioquia [online]. 2007, n.40, pp.76-94. ISSN 0120-6230.

Results of a study of the behavior of induction motors under stator faults are presented in this paper. Laboratory controlled short-circuits are induced between stator turns of induction motors. Mechanical vibrations, axial leakage flux and stator current are sensed in these motors; signals are then identified and compared to find the main harmonic components showing larger amplitude variations.

Keywords : Current spectrum; vibration spectrum; Axial leakage flux spectrum; diagnosis techniques; induction motors.
