Abstract

RAMOS MORALES, Félix et al. Influence of temperature dependent physical properties of steel in finite element simulation of welding process. Rev.fac.ing.univ. Antioquia [online]. 2009, n.48, pp.87-96. ISSN 0120-6230.

A finite element model was developed to simulate the butt joint, with a 3.2 mm diameter electrode E 7018, of two plates of low carbon and low alloy steel. Also, the influence on the temperature distribution was studied considering temperature-dependent physical properties (thermal conductivity and specific heat).

Keywords : Welding, finite elements; thermal-dependence; physical properties.
