Abstract

BARRERA NUNEZ, Víctor Augusto; BERJAGA MOLINER, Xavier; ORDONEZ PLATA, Gabriel  and  MELENDEZ FRIGOLA, Joaquim. Strategies for Voltage Sag Source Relative Location in Power Distribution Networks. Rev.fac.ing.univ. Antioquia [online]. 2009, n.50, pp.159-169. ISSN 0120-6230.

In this paper two strategies to estimate the origin (upstream or downstream) of voltage sags gathered in distribution substation are presented and compared. The first strategy is based on boolean rule that contains impedances obtained before and during the perturbation. The second strategy uses the three-phase voltage and current complete waveforms gathered during the event. Both strategies were verified with voltage sag events gathered in distribution substations.

Keywords : Fault location; power quality monitoring; voltage sag (dip).
