Abstract
AGUDELO, John; MORENO, Ricardo and PEREZ, Juan Fernando. Dynamic and energy behavior of a bus fuelled with natural gas. Rev.fac.ing.univ. Antioquia [online]. 2010, n.51, pp.72-80. ISSN 0120-6230.
In this paper the theoretical power of a vehicle under four operating conditions was calculated using longitudinal dynamics. Experimental measurements were carried out in order to find the specific fuel consumption under those operating conditions, in such a way that the global energy efficiency was obtained for a bus provided with natural gas engine. When the slope was changed from 0 to 7%, the efficiency varied from 25.4 to 27.6%; while the velocity change from 15 to 40 km/h, produced a change of 25.9 to 27.1% in energy efficiency. Both, velocity and slope produced an increase in energy efficiency when moved from low to high values. The slope has higher effect on efficiency than velocity.
Keywords : longitudinal dynamic; vehicular natural gas; bus; energy efficiency.
