Abstract

TRUJILLO RODRIGUEZ, César Leonardo; DIAZ ALDANA, Nelson Leonardo  and  HERNANDEZ MORA, Johann Alexander. Controller design for a flyback converter, in operating interconnected to grid mode, for photovoltaic applications. Rev.fac.ing.univ. Antioquia [online]. 2012, n.65, pp.16-32. ISSN 0120-6230.

This paper presents the modeling of a flyback converter integrated into a two-stage photovoltaic microinverter operating in grid connected mode and the design of the its controllers. The idea is to get the dynamic model to the DC/DC converter in order to implement a control to operate as a current source and regulate the input voltage, based on the reference imposed by maximum power point tracker algorithm. This control scheme is novel and has been documented by several authors using boost converters. Therefore, the major contribution of this paper is the use of this novel scheme to harness the maximum energy from the panels through the employ of a converter with electrical isolation between the source and the load. To validate the operation of the flyback model under study, simulations in PSIM™ were carried out. Finally, the conclusions are presented.

Keywords : Flyback converter; microinverter; photovoltaic panel.
