Abstract

VILLA GARCIA, Luis Manuel. Sensitivity analysis applied to the dynamics of structures by changing the inertial properties. Rev.fac.ing.univ. Antioquia [online]. 2014, n.70, pp.66-77. ISSN 0120-6230.

Within the dynamics of structures, sensitivity analysis shows how to achieve the most effective modification to reach a change in the structural behaviour. Usually, the modal model is available, has a limited number of vibration modes; even so, it is possible to achieve a reasonable approximation to estimate the sensitivities of the natural frequencies and the eigenvectors. Throughout the exhibition ofthe work, we develop an experimental validation of both analytical expressions for determining estimates of modification of modal parameters, i.e., estimates of the variation of the frequency deviation Δωi, and the increase Δ{Ψi} the components of each eigenvector, belonging to the mode i.

Keywords : Operational modal analysis; scaling factor; sensitivity; mass-change method.
