Resumen
RAMIREZ GOMEZ, Mauricio Andrés. Colonial rupture: In the search for an economic ethos. Semest. Econ. [online]. 2007, vol.10, n.20, pp.13-27. ISSN 0120-6346.
Ideological transformation processes based on development ideas of political and economic characters during the XIX century in Colombia can be deemed as a reaction to an anachronistic process of adopting patterns which are not consistent with current economic order. This made possible a formulation of a "modernizing" thought based on individual experiences and foreign ideas from which it was intended to develop economic, social, and political ideas. Thus, in order to identify the development of an economic ethos, this article is though in the context of a debate developed in relation to the idea of a National State in Colombia from 1850 to 1890, which was evidenced in the institutional transformation processes.
