Abstract

FORERO-BERNAL, Lida Alexandra  and  DURAN-DUARTE, Lizeth Katherine. Contributions to the construction of the state of art of Colombian female entrepreneurship. Rev. esc.adm.neg [online]. 2019, n.86, pp.77-92. ISSN 0120-8160.  https://doi.org/10.21158/01208160.n86.2019.2291.

Contributing to the construction of the state of the art of female entrepreneurship in Colombia was the purpose of the project, whose results are exposed in this article. It presents a document review that began with the general search for terms on female entrepreneurship and on gender by means of the thesaurus using Boolean and truncated operators, focusing on databases such as EBSCO, Redalyc, Dialnet, and Scielo.

As a result, it was possible to identify, among other elements, that there are few studies on the subject of gender, which highlights the gaps in the knowledge related to female entrepreneurship. Likewise, it was possible to demonstrate that similar methodological designs are used in the research work on this field, generally based on bibliographic revision, case studies, qualitative and quantitative analyses, and less frequent on the use of statistic software, to correlate the variables involved.

Finally, it was possible to establish that this topic research grows richer as the amount of women in management positions increases, and that despite this, there are still barriers and stereotypes to overcome, thus making the study of this particular theme more relevant.

Keywords : entrepreneurship; female entrepreneurship; state of the art; scientific research; methodological design; document review; Colombian women.
