Resumen

JIMENEZ-SIERRA, Devinso. Social imaginary of social responsibility in the agro-industrial sector of the department of Magdalena, Colombia. Rev. esc.adm.neg [online]. 2021, n.90, pp.153-168.  Epub 24-Feb-2022. ISSN 0120-8160.  https://doi.org/10.21158/01208160.n90.2021.2977.

The impact of SARS-CoV-2 on the global economic activity has revealed the need to assess the conceptual horizon and social representation of companies in the agro-industrial sector of the department of Magdalena, Colombia, with respect to the managerial vision that is based on the principles of social responsibility (SR), an orientation that could soothe the effects on employability. The aim of this study is to describe the social imaginary of workers in the agro-industrial sector in the department of Magdalena, regarding corporate social responsibility. From a descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach, the research proposes the application of a data collection instrument to employees of 208 companies in the agro-industrial sector and registered in the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia, by means of an electronic form. The study allows to identify that there is no evidence of constructs related to SR stakeholders within the organizations of the agro-industrial sector, which could indicate that, although they take action or have plans derived from SR principles, they are not recognized as such. This generates a direct distancing in the appropriation of SR values, which is important in the purpose of facing the current context of economic uncertainty that is part of the social restriction caused by the pandemic generated by SARS-CoV-2.
