Abstract

BOHORQUEZ PELAEZ, LILIANA  and  CARDONA CASTRO, NORA. Differential diagnosis of superficial mycosis with dermatological diseases. CES Med. [online]. 2010, vol.24, n.1, pp.37-52. ISSN 0120-8705.

Superficial mycoses are caused by fungi that involve the epidermal stratum corneum and suprafollicular portion of the annexa. These fungi are capable of producing conditions that simulate numerous dermatologic entities which we must learn to differentiate. In this paper we review the clinical manifestations of superficial fungal infections and the dermatological differential diagnoses that must be considered when faced with the various clinical presentations.

Keywords : Dermatomycoses; Fungus Diseases; Differential Diagnosis.
