One consequence of the severe forms of this infection is the lethality which can range from 1 to 5 %. It is considered that plasma leakage is the most important phenomen that determines the severity. In order to have a better understanding about of the effects of the dengue virus, a narrative review was done of post-mortem findings of patients who have died of dengue virus infection.
