Abstract

ZARCO, Luis; GIL, Laura; MILLAN, Sonia Patricia  and  PRETELT, Felipe. Opsoclonus myoclonus ataxia syndrome secondary to a parainfectious process by cytomegalovirus. Acta Neurol Colomb. [online]. 2011, vol.27, n.4, pp.237-242. ISSN 0120-8748.

This paper reported a 66 years old patient, with eye movements alteration associated to myoclonus, cerebellar ataxia and dysarthria, secondary to a parainfectious process by cytomegalovirus. The physiopathology of the opsoclonus myoclonus ataxia syndrome, its etiologies and the available therapeutic options were checked, and turned out that it is not very common since only one previous published case associated to cytomegalovirus was found.
