Psychogenic (functional) dystonia represent a huge challenge to the clinician. Nowadays there is a discussion between which term fit most to this condition (psychogenic vs. functional) but so far a consensus has not been reach. This phenomenon is present in absence of any neurological condition or identifiable secondary cause and usually is accompanied with an important psychiatric comorbidity.
