Abstract

V., Oscar Pradilla  and  RUEDA-SANCHEZ, Mauricio. Patient with ocular pain in emergency department. Acta Neurol Colomb. [online]. 2020, vol.36, n.4, suppl.1, pp.23-28.  Epub May 14, 2021. ISSN 0120-8748.  https://doi.org/10.22379/24224022313.

The ocular region is an area that can be the origin of painful pathologies due to primary involvement of the eye that produce headache as an associated symptom and in turn be the location for referred pain in neurological pathologies, its evaluation is usually performed by neurologist and ophthalmologist. Patients with an abnormal ophthalmologic examination usually have a simpler clinical approach allowing a faster diagnosis and a more effective treatment, the challenge is the approach to the patient with eye pain but with normal examination, ophthalmologists usually refer to this condition as "white or quiet eye" and those patients are deferred to assessment by neurology to rule out organicity.

Keywords : eye pain; aneurysm (MeSH).
