Human toxocariasis is a helminthic zoonosis caused by the invasion of the larvae of the species Toxocara to the human organism. It is acquired by ingesting the eggs of larvae due to lack of hand hygiene, consumption of vegetables and raw meats, geophagy, and untreated water. The serodiagnosis is performed by ELISA or western blot. It is a highly prevalent disease especially in countries tropical, developing and especially in rural areas. There are different ways to clinical presentation and among them that of central nervous system involvement. Its treatment is with anthelmintics.
