Oral and maxillofacial surgeons regularly face complex personal and clinical scenarios that challenge the ethics and professionalism. Based upon a core of ethical principles embedded in a legislative act, this article reflects on the exemplary behavior and commitment oral and maxillofacial surgeons must exhibit with patients, colleagues and society.
