Abstract

MARTINEZ M, Julián D et al. Hematoma intramural esofágico. Rev Col Gastroenterol [online]. 2005, vol.20, n.1, pp.76-79. ISSN 0120-9957.

Intramural esophagic hematoma is a rare pathology, which could be caused by barotrauma secondary to nausea, vomiting, foreign bodies, endoscopy, or predisponent conditions such as anticoagulant therapy. In many patients there are not such antecedents so the condition is named “spontaneous”. We report nine cases seen in our institution.

Keywords : Esophagic hematoma; intramural hematoma; intramural dissection; spontaneous esophagic rupture.
