Resumen

OSPINA NIETO, John. The real impact of the periampullary diverticulum in the ERCP. Rev Col Gastroenterol [online]. 2007, vol.22, n.4, pp.297-301. ISSN 0120-9957.

The duodenal diverticulum generally incidental find in the endoscopics studies commonly has been associated with a high rate of complications and faults in the ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography). Aims: The present work seeks to determine the effect and characteristics of the peri-ampullary duodenal diverticululum in our way as well as its relation with faults and complications during the E.R.C.P, and the finds of the same one. Materials and Methods: Among November 1, 2005 and June 30, 2007 508 ERCP was realized finding present the peri-ampullary duodenal diverticulum (PDD) in 122 patients (24.4 %), in these patients I study the location of the diverticulum and its relation with the endoscopics finds, the unsuccessful results and the complications. Conclusions: The peri-ampullary duodenal diverticulum, does not increase the rate of complications of the E.R.C.P, though if it does it technically more complex increasing the time of procedure. The rate of unsuccessful procedures is seen related to the location of the ampulla with regard to the diverticulum, in this aspect a modification appears to the existing classification.
