Abstract
CORTI, Rodolfo E and GIORDANO ROMANO, Adriana. Functional dyspepsia: Prokinetic drugs utility in your treatment in year 2008. Rev Col Gastroenterol [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.3, pp.260-265. ISSN 0120-9957.
In patients with functional dyspepsia, motor abnormalities can demonstrate in approximately 30 to 45% of cases. Patients with delayed gastric emptying, an abnormal electrogastrography (EGG) (gastric dysrhythmias), impaired fundic accommodation or antral distension can respond better to prokinetic agents than patients with normal emptying. In this paper we evaluated newer agents that target specific pathophysiological abnormalities specially promotility agents. Promotility agents evaluated included: anitdopaminergic D1-D2 agents, agonists 5Ht3, 5HT4 receptors, agonists 5HT1 receptors, motilin agonists and opioid agents.
Keywords : Dyspepsia; treatment; promotility drugs.
