The need for improvement is reflected in the overuse, underuse or misuse of medical services currently available. Having the appropriate knowledge, well adjusted to medical recommendations based on clinical evidence is important if we are to give our patients the best care. This review will provide recommendations regarding IBD patient treatment quality, as well as for prevention of complications associated with the disease and established medical treatment.
